Xsr 155 (Yacht) by Sarp Yachts
2018 - 2019, Platinum A' Yacht and Marine Vessels Design Award Winner
In light of environmentally friendly vision, Sarp Yachts proudly present its brand concept yacht family flagship; xsr 155. This model will be built with the parallel hybrid propulsion systems; the best alternative for the fossil fuels which enables to avoid the noise, vibrations and emissions. Open spaces are the important overlook for the design strategy because the owners spend their time on exterior decks. The key element of the design is the architectural glass arrangement which surround the entire salon, giving great lightness and visibility from the inside out.
The most unique aspect of this model is using extensive glass integrated with the superstructure, which gives the architectural touch. By using the hybrid propulsion clients avoid the noise, vibrations, emissions and expense of running diesel generators at anchor. Main focus is client’s freedom and flexibility on board; full glass living areas and spacious exteriors with loose furniture provided. She is designed respectful to nature by giving the feeling closer to the sea with zero compromises from style.
Design Challenges
The main challenge was making a design with architectural glass use without losing the exterior styling proportions; we want to give the design sophisticated look but still feel simple in overall. Hybrid propulsion systems features are hard to archive the aimed target at this yacht range and systems suppliers and industry potentials are in progress in specific points, this also affects design process.
Production Technology
The hull is grp construction and superstructure is full carbon for the lightness and stiffness needed for the maximum efficient. Hull is developed with the patented fast displacement hull form which is efficient not only in a restricted values interval around the maximum speed but include increased comfort on board with better sea keeping and wave reduction. By using parallel hybrid propulsion systems, clients will make slow cruises by utilising electric propulsion with nearly zero cost and offers a low maintenance period by silent operation without exhaust gas.
